As a lawyer, I must post the traditional disclaimer about my blog. Here it goes...
This is just a blog...which means these are my thoughts at the time I am writing. I must disclaim that there may be mood swings between blogs or even throughout one blog. I may write a blog about one thing and express my thoughts and then I have every right to change my mind about the same thing in the next blog.
But the real issue to me is: What is up with a disclaimer? Is the trust between humans so far removed that we have to have words on paper to seal the deal? What happen to the days where a man's (or woman's) word was as good as a signed contract on paper? Paper...something that can be destroyed with a lit match. Should I have a traditional disclaimer for my upcoming marriage?
Dear Future Husband,
By signing this disclaimer, you are foregoing your rights to have any opinions that are different from mine. You are also foregoing your rights to have any feelings of negativity toward anything in my presence that I think is good. In other words, you are throwing human nature and being yourself out the door.
Sign the dotted line please.
Yeah right. I love him for who he is...a feeling that cannot even be expressed in words or on paper.
But as for disclaiming my blog...it is what it is and I hope you enjoy it. But if not, everyone has the right to his or her opinion.
Cheers.
